West End actors join UK tour of Everybody's Talking About Jamie

Full casting has been announced for the UK tour of Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, the musical which became a West End hit after transferring from the Crucible in Sheffield.

The show about a teenage boy from a council estate in Sheffield who dreams about becoming a drag queen will start its 2020 UK tour at the Lyceum Theatre, Sheffield, from February 8-29.

Reprising their roles from the West End production will be Layton Williams, much-loved EastEnders actor Shane Richie as Hugo/Loco Channelle and Shobna Gulati (Coronation Street, Dinnerladies) who will also be playing Ray in the film of Everybody’s Talking About Jamie which will be released in cinemas in October 2020.

George Sampson, who shot to fame as the youngest person to win Britain’s Got Talent at the age of 14, will play Dean.

Further cast includes Amy Ellen Richardson, Lara Denning, Sharan Phull, Cameron Johnson, John Paul McCue, Rhys Taylor, Richard Appiah-Sarpong, Simeon Beckett, Kazmin Borrer, Ellis Brownhill, Jodie Knight, Jessica Meegan Talia Palamathanan and Adam Taylor along with Alex Hetherington, Emma Robotham-Hunt (swings), Ellie Leah and Garry Lee (understudies).
